Do Homeopathic
remedies really cure? |
|
| |
Along the past 200 years, no Homeopathic remedy has ever cured any
disease-pretty much in the same fashion that no firefighter has ever
put out a fire.
All firefighters do is to aim the nozzle of the fire hose. Then the
water pouring out of the hose, and not the firefighter, will put out
the fire.
In a similar fashion, no Homeopathic remedy has ever cured any
disease. What remedies do is to direct the patient's Vital Force
towards the imbalance that results in the disease ailing a patient.
The patient's Vital Force-and not the remedy-will bring about
balance and consequently cure.
Conversely, Pharmaceutical drugs can indeed cure some diseases, if
at the expense of side effects, toxicity and induction of allergic
reactions.
This is so because a drug is a chemical substance, purified or
synthesized with the single purpose of interacting with an element
of the patients' cells. Such an interaction will bring about a
stimulation or an inhibition of that cellular element, and therefore
of the whole cell.
When this interaction happens in cells of sick tissues, or in
bacteria and the like, then the patient may be cured of his or her
ailment; and we will talk of a curative or therapeutic effect. When,
instead, that action takes place between the drug and the cellular
elements of normal tissues, then we will talk of toxicity, side
effects, induction of allergic phenomena or teratogenic effects
(that is, ill effects on embryos and/or fetuses). Toxicity, side
effects and the like are almost inevitable when using drugs, because
most Human cells, whether normal or sick, share similar cellular
components.
Things are different when it comes to Homeopathic remedies.
To start with, there is no interaction between the remedy and
structures of sick or normal tissues. All a Homeopathic remedy does
is to give direction to the patient's Vital Force. The Vital Force
will then bring about the cure.
There is not a direct therapeutic effect in Homeopathic remedies,
and consequently no toxicity, no side effects, no induction of
allergy and no teratogenic effects. This is so because the Vital
Force does not bind with cellular structures, in order to stimulate
or inhibit them. It works by means of harmonizing the whole patient.
Nor will the Vital Force kill bacteria the way antibiotics do. If
those bacteria belong, as in the instances of those in the mouth
and the large intestine, the Vital Force will harmonize the
environment in such a fashion that those bacteria will work in the
benefit of the whole. And, if those bacteria do not belong, as in
the case of infections, the Vital Force will create harmony in the
whole patient. In turn, that harmony will make the environment
unhealthy for those bacteria.

When the little one spikes
a temp... |

...the first thing to do is to call your Homeopathic Physician.
Or a Pediatrician. This is not the time for arbitrarily deciding
whether or not natural remedies are superior to the "chemicals" a
Pediatrician is likely to prescribe. The main thing here is to give
the child the most adequate treatment or combination thereof,
according to each child's Homeopathic profile and the
disease-syndrome he or she may be bearing; all the more because
Pharmaceutical drugs do not in any way interfere with the beneficial
effect of Homeopathic treatments.
There are remedies that can be very useful for children suffering
from acute febrile conditions. They should be used at a potency of
30 CH or higher (in Homeopathy we use potencies instead of doses). A
few pellets should be dissolved in tap water, and then the patient
should receive one teaspoon of the solution every several minutes until the fever
abates.
Only a few doses are usually needed to bring the patient's
temperature back to normal if the treatment is successful.
Aconitum napellus should be considered when fever is very high and
comes about suddenly. It is likely to start after exposure to a
blast of dry northern winter wind. The child becomes agitated and
panicky. If old enough to talk, he or she will voice fear of
imminent death. Features are usually pink when lying down and pale
when sitting up. Pupils are contracted. The skin is dry and hot, and
becomes moist when treatment is successful.
Belladona is another wonderful remedy for high fever. Here the
child's features must be red, not pink or pale as in the case of
Aconitum. The skin must also be very hot, to the point that, if the
parent places his or her hand on the patient's forehead, the palm
will remain hot after being retrieved. The mouth is dry, yet the
child rejects water. Veins are bound to be throbbing The patient is
agitated and cannot stand a jar on the bed. Pupils are dilated and
feet can be icy cold. There is a tendency to delirium and
convulsions.
Both Aconitum and Belladona are usually prescribed to children who are otherwise healthy and strong.
Ferrum phosphoricum is to be considered in the first stages of fever
affecting weak and pale children. The patients' skin is usually dry.
Here the onset of sweating also heralds the success of Homeopathic
treatment.
Apis should be thought of when the chill happens in the evening. The
child is thirstless and worsens with heat. The tongue can be fiery
red. The urinary output may be diminished.
In both Gelsemium and Bryonia the onset of fever is slow. Both want
quiet and are worse from jarring, cough and sneezing. Bryonia is
thirsty, however, while Gelsemium is thirstless. Gelsemium,
furthermore, is drowsy, may complain of pain in the eyes and may
have shaking chills.
Pulsatilla and Chamomilla are useful in fever associated with
teething and earache (Calcarea carbonica is usually excellent to
relieve discomfort associated with teething). Pulsatilla cries
softly and clings to the parent; while Chamomilla has one cheek red
and the other pale, screams and kicks because of inability to
tolerate pain, and throws the toys given by his or her parents to
appease his or her anger.

part from the Materia Medicæ of Drs. Kent, Boericke and Vijnosky).

| Profiles of Homeopathic
remedies: Arsenicum album |
|
| |
White arsenic is a tasteless, extremely poisonous
mineral a.k.a. inheritance powders, because of its usefulness as a
dispatcher to the hereafter of rich elderly relatives.
Napoleon Bonaparte was one of its victims. He was slowly poisoned to
death in Santa Elena, apparently not by his British captors but by
French royalists, who feared his return to power.
As it happens with many poisons, white arsenic becomes a wonderful
remedy when Homeopathically prepared. It is then called Arsenicum
album.
Arsenicum album can successfully be used in both acute problems
(i.e., diseases that afflict well-balanced individuals), and in
chronic patients (i.e., those out of balance to start with).
In victims of acute poisoning, white arsenic produces extreme
anxiety, restlessness, prostration and fear of death, severe burning
pains, vomiting, colics and diarrhea, among other less important
manifestations. All symptoms worsen after midnight.
Since in Homeopathy like cures like, Arsenicum album will become
useful, for instance, in patients suffering from acute intoxications
characterized by severe anxiety and fear of death, burning pains,
severe vomiting and diarrhea and aggravation after midnight. In many
patients, the administration of Arsenicum album at potencies of 30
CH and higher will make symptoms disappear rapidly and gently, with
no side effects and no toxicity.
In Clinical trials of Arsenicum album, the Human volunteers who test
the remedy- also called Provers- do experience the anxiety, burning
pains, fear of death, restlessness, etc. found in acute intoxications,
if in a milder form. But Provers will also desire scalding hot
drinks and baths, that paradoxically improve their burning pains.
Here too, everything will be worse after midnight. Provers will
become extremely orderly, driving and fastidious, will start to
dress with a lot of care and become stingy with their money. They
will also develop an urge to collect things of value and their
countenance will become grave and somber.
When a Homeopathic Physician sees a chronic patient with anxiety,
restlessness and fear of death, burning pains, worsening after
midnight, desire for scalding hot drinks and baths, etc., that
Doctor will prescribe Arsenicum album, regardless of whatever
disease-syndrome may be afflicting the patient.
This is so because, and by means of prescribing the Homeopathic
remedy that mimics the symptoms and characteristics-or profile-of
the whole patient, the Doctor directs that patient's Vital Force
towards the source of his or her imbalance. In turn, imbalance
produces the ailment affecting him or her. So the Homeopathic remedy
allows the patient's Vital Force to bring about both balance and
disappearance of the disease.
Which is why, in Homeopathic Medicine, one hundred patients with the
same disease-syndrome may be treated with one hundred different
remedies, each one adapted to each patient's individual profile.
And also why one hundred patients, affected by different diseases,
may well end up receiving the same remedy; provided that the profile
of all one hundred of them corresponds to that particular
Homeopathic preparation.
