Can you give me general information about your practice and services?

My practice is strictly office based and all visits are by appointment only. Smoking is not permitted in my office.

Each appointment is set aside exclusively for each patient because, in Homeopathy, only one patient can be seen at a time. This means that it is impossible to fill a time slot if a visit is cancelled within 24 hours or less. Consequently, this office will charge for cancellations within 24 hours and for no shows.

I treat patient of all ages with all kinds of Medical complaints.

If you have any more questions do not hesitate to either call me at (860) 537-3699 or email me at jose.mullen@snet.net

What is your policy regarding patient privacy?

I am the only person who has access to charts in my office.
Each patient has the right to access, inspect, copy and request amendments to his or her records.

I routinely maintain communication related with Clinical or Homeopathic matters only with the patient or with his or her legal custodian, either personally or through the phone. I never use e-mail or answering machines to transmit this kind of information.
Written information leaving my office is either handled directly, or else mailed to the patient or to the patient's legal custodian.

Exceptions are reasons of treatment, payment and health care or legal operations. In these instances, only the minimum necessary information is disclosed and, whenever I can, I let my patients know of these exceptions.

I notify my patients in writing, and request written acknowledgement, of their rights regarding privacy.

What are the advantages of a Homeopathic treatment?

Several, actually.
To start with, you will be receiving a treatment that has been uninterruptedly used for the past two hundred years all over the world, meaning that there are no surprises here. Homeopathic treatments virtually lack side effects and toxicity, have no allergy-inducing capacity and no ill effects in embryos and fetuses. A successful Homeopathic treatment does more than just to eliminate the disease afflicting you. This is so because Homeopathy has the capacity of also eliminating the state of overall imbalance from which all diseases originate. The disappearance of your imbalance will bring about an enrichment in the quality of your life that no other form of treatment can achieve.
And, last but not least, Homeopathic treatments are considerably less expensive.

Should I continue to see my primary care physician?

I always strongly recommend my patients to remain under the care of their primary doctor during Homeopathic treatment. Homeopathic and regular medicine complement each other nicely. Besides, primary care physicians are likely to have hospital privileges and I don't.

What are your office hours?

Office hours are approximately 9 AM to 5 PM, Mondays to Fridays. One day a week I usually work late, in order to accommodate patients who cannot come earlier. I always do my utmost to be punctual, although sometimes such punctuality is impossible.

What should I bring with me in my first visit, and what should I do with the treatment I am currently taken?

I always ask my patients to kindly bring with them the names of all pharmaceutical drugs, Homeopathic and herbal remedies and nutritional supplements they may be taking, as well as surgical, lab and X-Ray reports.

I also always ask them to please continue all the treatments prescribed by their regular doctors. There is going to be plenty of time later on to taper down and discontinue those treatments, if and when the Homeopathic treatment is successful.

I also ask my patients to please let me know promptly of any treatment, prescription-based or otherwise, that they may start while under my care.

Are follow-up appointments necessary in Homeopathy?

Adequate follow-up is essential in Homeopathy.

In Homeopathy, wellness is achieved by means of correcting the patient's overall imbalance, and it usually takes time to correct imbalance. During that period, that varies from person to person, there is always the risk of again falling into imbalance and consequently also into disease.

I ask my patients to kindly follow up my indications carefully and to please feel free to call me as often as they may need to clarify matters and/or to report.

I also ask my patients to please let me know in advance if they must interrupt their Homeopathic treatment. This way, we may arrange some means to continuing treatment despite of the interruption.

What should I do if I require emergency care?

My office is only equipped for the delivery of high quality Homeopathic Medicine. It cannot handle emergencies or other forms of Medical care. My office has no on-call facilities for nights, holidays and weekends. I always ask my patients to contact their primary care physician or go to a walk in clinic or an emergency room if they need urgent care or must be seen after working hours.
